  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Support Pollution Reduction
What environmental factors affect human health in your region, and how do they affect it?

    Jay Aber 10/24/2018 9:42 AM
Transportation is a huge environmental factor. Air pollution, noise pollution, light pollution, and green house gasses contributing to global warming are all a major problem with cars. We need to get people out of their cars and walking, biking, and riding transit more!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Healthy Sleep
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

    Jay Aber's avatar
    Jay Aber 10/24/2018 9:41 AM
Getting off the phone at night. Going to bed earlier. Realizing that I need to sleep to be productive at work and home!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Support Local Pollinators
Why is it important to take care of pollinators?

    Jay Aber's avatar
    Jay Aber 10/24/2018 9:41 AM
Pollinators are essential to our survival as a species. It can't get any more important than that!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Jay Aber's avatar
    Jay Aber 10/24/2018 9:40 AM
I feel so much more connected to the city when on the bus or biking. I feel like I'm part of the environment, rather than just moving through it like when I'm in a car.

    Jay Aber's avatar
    Jay Aber 10/19/2018 8:09 AM
Talk to them about what I'm doing to shift to renewable energy sources.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Forage for My Food
Amongst the motivations for foraging are: a source of food; means of income; connecting with nature; cultural tradition; or transmitting "local ecological knowledge, and a means for stewarding local and native plant populations" (McLain et al. 2012, 13). Which of these would be your chief motivation and why?

    Jay Aber's avatar
    Jay Aber 10/19/2018 7:59 AM
Connect with nature and cultural tradition. I want a greater connection to my ancestors and the land to understand better how food has been grown and harvested naturally over millennia.
