Linda's actions
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Nature
Do Nature Activities
I will engage in nature-based activities alone, or with my friends or family, for 20 minute(s) each day. (This can be anything from going on a walk or hike, to noticing the leaves changing color, to reading a book with nature themes.)
Simplicity
Less Screen Time
I will replace 30 minute(s) of screen time each day with other activities.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Waste
Find Local Recycling Depots
I will spend at least 20 minutes finding out where to recycle the recyclable items that I can't put in my curbside bin.
Waste
Go Paperless
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by opting into paperless billing and ending unwanted subscriptions.

Linda Bottom 10/23/2018 9:52 AMMOVING BOXES FOR SHOPPING. I have flattened 6 of my moving boxes and now take them into the stores, pop them open and use them instead of the store plastic bags. Plus they hold more weight than bags and the box slots for carrying are convenient and more durable and reusable. Wish I would have done this sooner.-

Linda Bottom 10/23/2018 9:48 AMUNPACKED. I finished unpacking after my move and recycled all boxes either by giving them to others needing boxes or in the recycle bin. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Linda Bottom 10/03/2018 11:26 AMI am moving and have obtained enough boxes and bubble wrap throughout the campus and grocery stores to pack 95% of my house. Reusing. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?

Keep a box or reusable bag in your car. -
