REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Kristine Boyer 10/10/2018 2:21 PMI already do this. I teach a kickboxing class which my friends attend and I walk at least 3 times a week outside. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Zero-Waste CookingIn North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?
Kristine Boyer 10/10/2018 2:20 PMI save all of the ends, seeds and stems of the vegetables I use and freeze them. When I have enough of them plus some bones then I use all of them to make stock which I freeze to be used later. I not only use all parts of the vegetable I also save money by not having to by stock to make my rice and soups. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Whole Foods DietMichael Pollan states that "it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor." What are your thoughts on this?
Kristine Boyer 10/10/2018 2:17 PMIf you can eat the right foods to take care of your body then your body can take care of you. I truly believe that the better your nutrition you have the less often you will be sick. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Adjust the ThermostatYour utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your zipcode, and in your state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?
Kristine Boyer 10/10/2018 2:14 PMI make sure I unplug all of my ancillary appliances when they are not in use. I also make sure I turn off each light as I exit the room I am in.
