    I was able to volunteer 2 hours, but not the 4 that I had signed up for during this 3-week challenge ... sigh ...

    How do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?

    To cope with stress, these have proven helpful to me: taking a walk with my dog (with no ear buds/music during that time); writing in my gratitude journal; meditating; sharing with a close friend or family member.

    This challenge has been enlightening, inspiring and introspective. I've enjoyed seeing others' journeys and comments and sharing my own. I love that we all are embracing how we can do better ... and sharing those insights and tips with each other.  Onward, to all!

    To what extent do you believe that environmental factors contribute to your own health or issues with health?

    I believe that environmental factors absolutely contribute to my own health ... and the health of others. I believe there is an inherent connectedness we have to the environment  -- and to each other. What we do individually impacts others collectively.

    What a beautiful weekend to be outside! Ran on the Boise Greenbelt with my running group; had lunch on an outdoor patio with a dear childhood friend; and walked my dog, Sophie, through our neighborhood a couple of times (loved the bright red trees). Plus, I didn't touch my PC for 48 hours ... ;-)

    There's less than a week to go for this annual EcoChallenge, and it has confirmed for me that I can continue to do the daily challenges all year long.

    Love that the salad bar at the HP-Boise cafe is all vegan ... made my 'whole foods' meal challenge, well ... not so challenging! Piled on the brussels sprouts and beets ... ;-)

    Thanks to Stewart, Ashley and Michael for the plastic product bags tips to help me with one of my challenges. Also found a great "Forks over Knives" magazine with LOTS of whole foods recipes to help with my second daily second challenge, and discovered the "Headspace" app to help me with my meditation challenge. Hope others are finding tools and tips from others to equip them for success as well!

    One thing I'm doing this month is to be the team captain for HP Boise Eco Challenge! ;-) It's great to see 140 team members join the challenge and take action ... bravo!
