I will avoid sending 2 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.

DAILY ACTION

Waste

Skip the Straw

Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

Go Paperless

I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by opting into paperless billing and ending unwanted subscriptions.

Day 1 -- racked up over 100 points for the team!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

This is a great idea -- I will work to eliminate 50% of my paper mail!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

I'm using one of my favorite work mugs --- I was given it as a gift for working on a project in 2007.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Choose Two-Sided Printing
Choosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?

I primarily print two-sided when I print anymore.  In fact, I don't have my own recycle bin anymore, I can use the common recycle bin (I don't have much paper to recycle any more).
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

I love straws --- and have a bunch -- -I will use them up and switch to paper straws.  I also love plastic straws that are reusable and will use those!
