Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

Replace Manual Thermostats
I will replace manual thermostats with programmable ones.

Chris Burcham 10/24/2018 10:03 AMThis challenge inspired me to take a deeper dive into sustainability. I want to keep momentum going, so I tried a few apps that have a similar concept. The one I liked the most is JouleBug. So, I challenge you to keep your momentum going. Find something like JouleBug to keep you going in the EcoChallenge off-season.
