My recycle bin at home is always filled to the brim on pick up day, while my garbage bin sits more than half empty (and the bin is smaller than my recycle bin).
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Adjust the Thermostat
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your zipcode, and in your state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

Turn off lights when not in a room.  Unplug chargers and non-essential electronics when not in use
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

Had to do research to find out where to recycle Styrofoam egg cartons.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Recycle Everything I Can
What have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?

I have always kept up with what I can recycle at the curb and what has to go to other recycle locations.  My recycle bin is always overflowing, while my garbage bin has barely anything in it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How do you anticipate replacing your thermostats for programmable ones will positively impact your life?

It will reduce my reliance on electricity by using less.  It will also save me money.
