I used the Think Dirty app to audit the ingredients in my personal care products. Not all the products I use were in the database, but a lot were, and it made it a lot easier than researching each item individually.

I started cleaning out my grandparents’ pantry today and was discouraged by how much had to be thrown out. I found something in a ziplock bag that was so transformed beyond any recognizable form of food that even the two geologists in the family couldn’t ID it. But on a serious note, how do you keep foods from shuffling to the back of your fridge/pantry and becoming forgotten?

I’m staying with my grandparents during this ecochallenge, so I will be working with them to make sustainable improvements to their home and lifestyle. Advocacy and persuasion are more outside of my comfort zone than personal improvement, so it should be a real challenge this year!
