I enjoyed a good 4 mile run in Princeton today.  It was windy with clouds whipping by and sticks falling off of trees on the canal path - Kinda Spooky but fun to breath the fresh air.

I did not accomplish my sleep challenge of 30 more minute last night. I am hoping to do better tonight as I will go to bed soon. This cooler weather and darker days makes me feel tired, and I am so tired.

I joined the EcoChallenge because doing so has made an historical difference on my impact on the environment from insulating the garage, recycling more and more with each challenge, using less and less plastic with each challenge.  One of my challenges has been to learn more about recycling and I have. Do you realize with all the chances going on there are other recycling opportunities.  For example, our Pennington Farmer's Market at the end of each month collects plastics #5 when at the curb in our part of Mercer County we can only recycle #1 & #2 plastics.  And recent that market is having us bring our cellophane food wrap there for recycling.  At the last saturday of this month, I will ask what they are making with it because at this point I don't know.  So one learns each time we take the EcoChallenge, is my point.

The moon is half waxed tonight and with the clouds blowing by so fast, it's a bit eery but the air quality in central NJ is beautiful at 54 degrees F. I hope you can all get out and enjoy the clean air.

How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

I see lots of mushrooms of different types when I walk around our neighborhood instead of drive. I also see the garbage that people throw out of their vehicle windows and this is very disheartening.

Yeah that was a mixed emotional comment of mine.  I would love to be able to eat the mushrooms but most of them are poisonous around where I live.
