When we are thankful for what we have and what we have been given, we realize that we are part of a larger system that goes beyond the boundaries of where we are. By focusing on being thankful for others and what they do, we take focus off of ourselves and work to make the world better for those that are in it and that we are thankful for.

As a family with both parents that work and kids in activities, we often buy food that we think will get ate, but ends up being wasted. We are starting to be more mindful and planning meals for the week and weekend. Buying less of items so that they get ate up and sticking to recipes and meal plans. Week 1 went very well. We will see if this keeps up. Trying to get creative with leftovers is also tricky, so will try being more creative that way as well.

As we head into fall and winter, I am considering my indoor gardening options to have fresh produce items year round. An indoor, windowsill, herb garden was the perfect way to start.
