REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Andy Gerlach 10/16/2018 6:41 AMMy wife and I recently joined a CrossFit gym which has provided much more than exercise. Not only have we met a group of new friends with a common interest but there is a new vibe and conversation in the house. We are high five'ing after a tough workout and numerous conversations around form, new friends, goals or tomorrows challenge. I am amazed at the entertainment factor from joining the gym and love we found another hobby we can enjoy together. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Whole Foods DietMichael Pollan states that "it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor." What are your thoughts on this?
Andy Gerlach 10/10/2018 8:29 PMThis message rings close to home. I was not kind to my body in my 30's due to poor eating habits and little exercise eventually leading to weight and health issues. Little by little I improved eating habits and exercise, eventually allowing my 40's to be the best shape of my life.
Fun Fact: My mother in-law has a saying in her kitchen very similar, " When it comes to Butter vs. Margarine, I trust cows more than I do chemists."
