Water
Insulate Water Pipes and Water Heater
I will avoid wasting water while waiting for the shower or sink to heat up.

I will join my neighborhood association or another local group.
Waste
Go Paperless
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by opting into paperless billing and ending unwanted subscriptions.

Improve a Bus Stop
I will improve a bus stop in my neighborhood by posting the stop schedule, adding seating or shelter, adding art or flowers, picking up litter, or some other small improvement.
Health
Audit Toxic Cleaning Products in my Home
I will spend 30 minutes researching toxic chemicals found in cleaning supplies and personal care products and remove them from my home.
Health
Support Pollution Reduction
I will spend at least 30 minutes learning about water and air quality issues in my area, how they are impacting human and environmental health, and how I can help.
Simplicity
Needs Vs. Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.

REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Forage for My FoodAmongst the motivations for foraging are: a source of food; means of income; connecting with nature; cultural tradition; or transmitting "local ecological knowledge, and a means for stewarding local and native plant populations" (McLain et al. 2012, 13). Which of these would be your chief motivation and why?
The Circle School Possums 10/16/2018 12:02 PMMy chief motivation is to connect with nature. The thought of picking and eating my own produce and having the ability to do that city-wide (when possible) is exciting. Eventually, after scouting enough locations, I can then possess local knowledge that I can share with others. -
The Circle School Possums 10/16/2018 12:00 PMOne of the most interesting tasks on here is under Nature, Forage for Food. Under Learn More, there is a map showing locations where you can pick fruit fresh from a tree. A lot of the locations are private, but not all of them are. I plan on checking some out and hoping I don't get shot! -
The Circle School Possums 8/13/2018 10:05 AMI am excited for this next challenge. Last year the Star Room Kindergarten (and the Circle School as a whole) worked hard in all Challenge Areas and managed to get our school in the Top 20 points wise. The amount of knowledge the students acquired was inspiring and I cannot wait to help shape a new batch of Eco Warriors! If you are a Star Roomer or Circle Schooler, sign up now!
