Peggy's actions
Simplicity
Work-Life Balance
I will not work more than 8 hour days each day to practice work-life balance.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 30 minute(s) each day.
Health
Healthy Sleep
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 15 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper each day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided.
Waste
Go Paperless
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by opting into paperless billing and ending unwanted subscriptions.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Peggy Greene 10/24/2018 10:58 AMIs it Friday yet? Meeting my ecochallenges has helped me feel accomplished, so there's that. -
Peggy Greene 10/24/2018 10:55 AMI'm using my handy-dandy double insulated beverage container with a sippy lid filled with ice cold water! I'm set to stay hydrated. -
Peggy Greene 10/23/2018 3:29 PMMy sleep schedule is contagious. My night owl husband has been following along and getting more sleep too! -
Peggy Greene 10/23/2018 3:28 PMIf only I could shut off the part of my brain that keeps working even when I am not at work... -
Peggy Greene 10/23/2018 3:27 PMIs there an app that provides daily inspirational messages for living life to its fullest while supporting a sustainable way of living? Something to keep reminding me of "the collective beauty of impact" and how my choices will make an impact.-
Stephania Fregosi 10/24/2018 10:44 AMThere are several sustainability apps; I don't know about inspirational messages.
Of the ones in these articles, I'm thinking about trying out rippl or joulebug.
If there's one you find and like, please let me know and we can recommend it to the wellness committee.

Peggy Greene 10/17/2018 2:01 PMWhen my own container isn't available or possible, I may use a bottle of water but I will reuse the container for multiple days and recycle the bottle after a week. It's not a perfect world with perfect situations that we live in and so, I can only do my best. -
Peggy Greene 10/17/2018 1:57 PMI'm committing to work-life balance because my family deserves my attention at least as much as my job does. -
Peggy Greene 10/11/2018 4:44 PMSleep is better when not crowded by overly loving cats unless they cry at the door all night. Ear plugs and sound machine for the win! -
Peggy Greene 10/08/2018 11:31 AMHappy Monday! I'm staying hydrated with lots of water from the water station using my refillable mug. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Work-Life BalanceIs practicing work-life balance difficult to do? How does it feel when you first begin? How does this feel for you after 21 days?
Peggy Greene 10/01/2018 10:51 AMThis balance is especially difficult when there are looming deadlines. Even when I shut off my work for the night it's difficult to train my brain to let it go until the next working day. For the last week, I have found I am eager to leave on time so that I have more time and energy for enjoying family time in the evening.
