Marely Guzman 10/24/2018 4:03 PMWeekly meal planning has definitely helped me with conserving food as well as saving money. -
Marely Guzman 10/24/2018 8:48 AMBeing apart of this Eco Challenge has opened my eyes to the bigger picture. One person can make a difference, even it's a small one. Seeing my impact really made me realize this. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Marely Guzman 10/16/2018 9:26 AMFinding a work-out buddy has always been helpful for me. I want to take a few friends on a trail walk with me. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Marely Guzman 10/10/2018 2:28 PMSince becoming more aware of all the bad that is happening within our ocean, I have decided to not eat seafood anymore. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Weekly Meal PlanningAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
Marely Guzman 10/10/2018 2:27 PMThis doesn't surprise me - Americans are accustomed to buying everything "bigger and better". I personally think that less is more. The less food that you cook at home, by portion control, the more you're benefitting your pocket and others who do need those leftovers. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Marely Guzman 10/10/2018 2:25 PMThe air smells and feels different. Personally, I can hear everything (aside from the hustle and bustle of cars) - I can hear the birds chirping and the leaves crunching underneath my feet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Collect Rain WaterTrace the water that flows down the drain from your house to the largest body of water nearby. What is the route it takes?
Marely Guzman 10/10/2018 2:24 PMThe route that the rain takes is out to the alley, where a mass pool of water gathers. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Plant an Herb GardenConsider the ways you can garden: a plot of land? a patio container? hanging basket? windowsill gardens? What would work best for your living situation and lifestyle?
Marely Guzman 10/10/2018 2:23 PMI am currently living in a house, I have several plants inside and out. I have many places outside that have a variety of plants in them.
