REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Kati Harper 10/23/2018 12:26 PMI try to integrate the activity into my day, taking a longer route to the max stop and getting off a stop early to get in a brisk walk, taking the stairs. In addition to nature walks with my kids and working out at home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Weekly Meal PlanningAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
Kati Harper 10/22/2018 12:39 PMWorking to transition my family's thought process on food. In my study of my households food waste habits, I have learned using a list, shopping weekly has greatly reduced the amount of food we bring into the home and the amount of waste from food going bad. Also, a weekly prep day has saved us a lot of time and has led to using all of the ingredients for multiple recipes, reducing waste even more. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Adjust the ThermostatYour utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your zipcode, and in your state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?
Kati Harper 10/22/2018 12:30 PMI have set my thermostat two degrees cooler then I would normally, even three degrees lower in the day time! Turns out socks go a long way. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My HomeHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Kati Harper 10/15/2018 8:16 AMWorking hard to get my household on board to bring in less items, and to do with what we already have too much of.
