Skip the Straw

Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

I tried to convince others to skip the straw and the push back was the glass rims at restaurants not being clean or they are chipped.  Will keep trying...it is going to take time.

I have to remind the servers to not bring me a straw. So many times, a beverage just arrives with one. So hard to break a habit.

This evening, I turned down a straw by opting for a beverage that does not normally come with a straw.  And fortunately, it is cooler this evening so do not mind the thermostat set even higher.
