I really enjoyed this program.  I hope to keep up with some of the habits I started during the program.

This is difficult for me as I enjoying buying.  I have gotten better about purchasing items and really asking myself if I need it or want it and is it good for our family finances.

As a family we are going to commit to at least one weekend a month that we will be tech/ screen free so that we are spending more time with each other.  We are going to go social media free for the Thanksgiving Holiday and no individual screen time (family TV/ movie time only).

The last two days have been spent being present with 55 young people from our community.  The first thing we did was put down our phones and be present with each other as we shared our vulnerability, spoke our truth, and committed to making a change. It is the work that renews my soul.  Thankful for the opportunity to work with the Middle School Peer Leadership retreat.

Spent two days volunteering with 55 local middle school students around peer leadership.  It was amazing to have deep conversations about speaking your truth and the difference one person can make in the lives of others.  I was blown away by these students and the feedback they provided me. The challenge is going well.  I have enjoyed taking even 15 minutes away from screens.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

I find myself able to focus more on my family by putting away my phone during meals.  I do find it hard to leave the screens closed but I know it is something I need to do more often.  I need to consider the role model I am for my kids.

It allows me to appreciate others and their lives while giving me the opportunity to reflect on the blessings in my life.
