Renna's actions
Nature
Forage for My Food
I will use the 'Learn More' resources below to find where I can forage for my own food locally.
Transportation
Improve a Bus Stop
I will improve a bus stop in my neighborhood by posting the stop schedule, adding seating or shelter, adding art or flowers, picking up litter, or some other small improvement.
Health
Take Control
Both system and personal sustainability are important! I will develop a plan with my medical professionals to achieve my best health and live my life to the fullest.
Water
Eco-friendly Gardening
I will plant native species, landscape with water-efficient plants, and use eco-friendly fertilizers.
Community
Meet My Neighbors
I will meet 5 new neighbor(s) each day.
Health
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 10 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
Waste
Use a Reusable Mug
I will avoid sending 7 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Waste
Recycle Everything I Can
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will spend 20 minutes researching and recycling all materials that are accepted by local haulers or drop stations in my community.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Recycle Everything I CanWhat have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?
Renna logiurato 10/09/2018 6:45 AMThe most difficult part of recycling things for me is that if its dirty or if is not useful at all for any other people. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth More Fruits and VeggiesWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How can we start shifting from a meat-focused food culture to a more plant-based one?
Renna logiurato 10/09/2018 6:43 AMI think that more North Americans eat meat than veggies because theirs more animals here that are tasty or they don't like veggies. I think we should start eating more veggies because its healthier and way better for your body. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Meet My NeighborsIn what ways can you create more real, face-to-face interactions with friends — or strangers — each week?
Renna logiurato 10/09/2018 6:38 AMI can relate more real, face to face interactions because i get to know people more and actually get to really relate to them and kinda feel what their feeling. -
Renna logiurato 10/04/2018 6:19 AMI joined the challenge because i thought it would be fun and because i need to do more stuff for the earth. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Renna logiurato 10/03/2018 6:21 AMI love using reusable mugs. They have really cool designs and i think that they are very fun.-
Christina Oleykowski 10/08/2018 3:05 PMMe too, Renna!!!

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Renna logiurato 10/03/2018 6:18 AMTry and find something that is reusable don't really look for disposable things.
