  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Practice Gratitude for Earth
Kathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How do we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?

No I don't particularly agree with that.  For me it might be the other way around, strive to be a good person, do what is right and be thankful that I can help.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Meditate
What would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?

How to engage preteens and teens and draw them out.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Eliminate Toxic Plastics
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

When I get single use items I do my best to reuse them at least once.  Otherwise I use my multi-use grocery bags and ceramic coffee cups all the time.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Know My health
How do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?

I internalize, not an effective method.  I really try to be mindful, to use my breathing, listen to music, and spend time outside.

This is very hard to do!

It was very easy because work had the foot work done, I just had to make the time and appt.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?

If you explore your surroundings you feel more comfortable in them and get to know more about yourself by what appeals to you in nature.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity De-Clutter My Home
How can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?

    Julie Martine's avatar
    Julie Martine 10/03/2018 3:06 PM
I need to adopt the practice of one thing in at least one thing out!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?

I will try to carry things out in my hands if I need to.  I try to empty my reusables and get them all back in my car trunk right away.  I do have a slim foldup bag that I can put in my purse for those quick run-ins.
