REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Practice Gratitude for EarthKathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How do we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?
Julie Martine 10/23/2018 4:13 AMNo I don't particularly agree with that. For me it might be the other way around, strive to be a good person, do what is right and be thankful that I can help. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Eliminate Toxic PlasticsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Julie Martine 10/23/2018 4:08 AMWhen I get single use items I do my best to reuse them at least once. Otherwise I use my multi-use grocery bags and ceramic coffee cups all the time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Know My healthHow do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?
Julie Martine 10/10/2018 2:03 PMI internalize, not an effective method. I really try to be mindful, to use my breathing, listen to music, and spend time outside. -
Julie Martine 10/09/2018 11:54 AMThis is very hard to do! -
Julie Martine 10/09/2018 11:53 AMIt was very easy because work had the foot work done, I just had to make the time and appt. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?
Julie Martine 10/09/2018 11:51 AMIf you explore your surroundings you feel more comfortable in them and get to know more about yourself by what appeals to you in nature. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My HomeHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Julie Martine 10/03/2018 3:06 PMI need to adopt the practice of one thing in at least one thing out! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Julie Martine 10/02/2018 12:04 PMI will try to carry things out in my hands if I need to. I try to empty my reusables and get them all back in my car trunk right away. I do have a slim foldup bag that I can put in my purse for those quick run-ins.
