  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
What do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than in other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?

There is a major disconnect between consumers and the sources of their food, especially in urban environments. When meat is readily available in pre packaged containers at the store, you don't take the time to think about where it came from. Meat consumption in America is easy and convenient. It's everywhere and you often have to go out of your way to make special requests for vegetarian options. Shifting this thinking is tough. Maybe we should start by opting in to meat filled options, instead of opting out?
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

Starting my day with a cup of coffee is a daily habit of mine, so switching to a reusable cup has a significant impact on the environment. Knowing that I am doing my part to keep disposable cups out of landfills makes it taste a little better. :)
