the goals I picked were not really that difficult to achieve, and are fun to tick off, but it feels like a tiny impact.  However, doing more is difficult with a very busy schedule. Frustrating!

Daily.  My early mornings are almost always spent outside and they always change my focus to one of collaboration and positive energy.  Everything is interconnected, even an introduced species like the wild turkeys that are on a population explosion here. They are everywhere at my barn in the early mornings, but have carved out some space from the crows who had previously over populated us and are busily eating bugs out of the horse manure so may be helping us by reducing the number of flies. Now if I could just teach them to eat yellowjacket wasps!

Why is it important to take care of pollinators?

I love apples.  Although, more seriously, I also love that we can all eat and eat local and eat fresh and without pollinators we won't e able to do any of that. I detest the thought that our thoughtless behavior is unnecessarily ending the lives of any creature.

Educator Stephanie Kaza advises her students to focus on what they care about most when addressing the enormity of ecological problems. Is there a specific area you feel particularly called to work on?

I am pretty focused on plastic right now  and amused a friend by picking up trash during our walk today :-)

If you were to only eat what is in season locally, what would be the hardest for you to give up?

I am pretty good about eating what is in season, but giving up chocolate would be TOUGH!

This is a great way to refocus priorities, and the autumn is always a time of change for me so it feels right to gather what is going well on my personal sustainability journey and think about what I can do better.
