My family has solar panels on the roof of our house. This is a great way to get clean, renewable energy by just using natural resources. It also doesn't hurt the environment!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Bringing your own bags and containers to the grocery store, and even to restaurants for leftovers, are a couple of ways to reduce your waste. What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

Sometimes at restaurants I do get the disposable boxes for leftovers. For a substitution, you could bring your own reusable containers.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?

I think that people are hesitant to use reusable water bottles because they are more valuable and you have to carry it around everywhere whereas you can just but a plastic water bottle at just about every convenience store. I think people should just see past these small inconveniences. I carry my water bottle in my backpack everyday and I will continue to do that.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Five minute showers are an impressive step toward reducing your water footprint. What is the next step you can take?

The next step that I could take would be to take showers with colder water. I could also inform others about the importance of no wasting water and encourage them to take shorter showers as well.
