REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity necessary for practicing simplicity?
thomas szewczyk 10/24/2018 9:30 AMNot purchasing toys and games for LOs but instead creating fun activities with what you have is the way to go. a little bit of forethought can turn anything you already have into a musical instrument, game, or otherwise. Side note, if you have to buy toys, buy wood and not plastic. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Less Screen TimeWhat did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?
thomas szewczyk 10/24/2018 9:27 AMIt is way easier to unplug from TV than you think. Just do it and get outside! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
thomas szewczyk 10/24/2018 9:25 AMOur favorite family weekend activity is throwing the LOs into backpack/carriers and going for a hike! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth More Fruits and VeggiesWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How can we start shifting from a meat-focused food culture to a more plant-based one?
thomas szewczyk 10/22/2018 1:10 PMThe general low cost of "meat" in America is astonishing. You should really be asking yourself why it is so cheap, learning about its production and harmful impact, and then reconsidering your consumption...and when you do purchase it do so from your local and sustainable farmer/rancher. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?
thomas szewczyk 10/22/2018 1:07 PMSpending time outdoors without technology reminds you of the simplicity and beauty of life, and helps to realign priorities while helping you to cleanse and calm your mind and body!
