Still collecting water from shower when getting hot, and used them to water plants.

That is super ambitious. And a great idea. I might need to borrow that one next summer....

Trimmed about 1-minute this morning taking a shower, and turned off monitors in two conference rooms before leaving work today.

    Health Know My health
How do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?

I find humor is the best way to deal with stressful and unpleasant emotional issues.  It always seems to lighten the mood, and always provides a much needed distraction for a short while.  Then, you can re-group and re-focus on the problem or issue at hand.

Well, because I had my house fumigated this weekend, I didn't use any hot water or gas these past 3-days!   Forced savings I guess!

After boiling some corn today, let the water cool, then watered plants with them.  My tiny contribution today.

Okay... does anybody really turn off these monitors/displays in our conference rooms anymore?  Turned off another 4 on my way out the door today for the start of a beautiful weekend.

Good point Gary and great work!  I think this could be a good company wide campaign

How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

I live 12-miles from the Moss Landing PG&E power plant, and wish I would've taken their tours when they were available.  Being so close to a major power plant and in the Monterey Bay, you can definitely tell they have a huge impact on the livelihood of the environment.  Being a marine sanctuary, this power plant must maintain high environmental standards, or its surrounding sea life will suffer, or worse, die out.

What are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?

With better LED technology, I've begun replacing my CFL's with higher efficient LED light bulbs.

I turned off 3 monitor displays in 3 different conference rooms before leaving the building.
