Anna Pickering 10/15/2018 2:22 PMThe class that I probably think about the most from when I was an undergrad wasn't actually related to my major; it was called "Sustainability for the Common Good." Our professor taught us to really think about the energy and resources that go into our choices all the way back to their source (like the energy needed to produce new hybrid vehicles vs driving what you already have until it breaks down). He had a saying that I liked: "There is no such thing as a free lunch... but there are cheaper lunches." -
Anna Pickering 10/13/2018 2:59 PMMy husband and I visited Powell Butte for the first time today. What a gorgeous day for it too! Coming into the eco challenge I was expecting all the actions to be related to reducing consumption or waste of resources, but I actually think it's a great idea to have these mindfulness activities on here too, like going outside or making an effort to thank somebody. A heightened awareness and appreciation of your environment and community is a great way to facilitate positive changes in the daily choices you make.-
Peggy La Point 10/14/2018 12:44 PMI know what you mean. Two of my challenges are totally unrelated to that...I got to explore a new natural area and today I’m baking bread.
