Stewart Wyatt 10/24/2018 8:53 AMFun challenge - hope to do it again! -
Stewart Wyatt 10/22/2018 8:05 AMI had a last minute shopping trip to the grocery store and realized I hadn't brought a reusable bag. So I bought one and asked the cashier to load the groceries into the newly purchased bag. She took it as a challenge and got it all to fit in the one bag. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Compost Food WasteNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? Do you know how your compost will be used and the benefits it has on the environment?
Stewart Wyatt 10/18/2018 7:29 AMComposting creates a natural circular economy in my yard and garden. An analysis by the extension service revealed that my yard needed more mulch. Composting keeps recycling the key soil components and nutrients -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Stewart Wyatt 10/18/2018 7:27 AMI like being present and in the moment. Enjoying being alive and surrounded by beauty. Mindfulness increases efficiency while increasing awareness of the world around. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?
Stewart Wyatt 10/18/2018 7:25 AMPositive outcomes are eating less and being more satisfied. With mindless eating I tend to eat whatever is available instead of stopping when I have had enough. Also get to taste and enjoy the food more. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Stewart Wyatt 10/18/2018 7:23 AMI have left the grocery cart to run to the car and get the bags. I keep the bags in the back of the car. Perhaps bringing them up to the front before leaving home would make them more conspicuous. I think I am getting better with practice. -
Stewart Wyatt 10/17/2018 4:24 PMGreat to walk to work especially with the cool weather and the bright colors of the changing leaves -
Stewart Wyatt 10/16/2018 11:54 AMWorking on getting compost from last falls leaves spread in my garden so I can start composting this years leaves.

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Walk InsteadHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Do you feel that this fact applies to you? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?
Stewart Wyatt 10/09/2018 7:41 AMI love to walk and bike, the issue is time. Often my short trips are time constrained. Perhaps with better planning and trip optimization I could do better. -
