I think our society is so used to giving people bags and making everything as "convenient" as possible, but it is really not that hard to a) bring your own bags or b) decline a bag if you only have a few items.  I already do try to bring my own bags with me but this challenge helped to keep it front of mind.

My office already had recycling bins but they were not being use properly.  I would see people throwing trash in the recycling and worse, recycling in the trash.  I started slow and was able to make signs to put by each receptacle and will continue to educate coworkers about the simple changes they can make.

I found this challenge actually pretty easy.  Especially for breakfast, there are so many meatless options.  It was also fun to be able to try new recipes and also just remove meat from current recipes.  Hot tip: vegetarian enchiladas are delicious.  It is nice to know there is something I can do to help the environment, without going full...

I found some great current environmental actions to write officials about on https://environmentcalifornia.webaction.org/p/dia/action3/common/public/?_ga=2.197801321.715189735.1540405433-1341047202.1540405433 (both state and nationwide).

I'm very happy that I joined this challenge, I learned so much and I can't wait to continue on with it. Hopefully our Lyft group can do this more often!

Packed tea and snacks in reusable containers for the car today so we wouldn't be tempted to buy something out and waste packaging. Got to our destination faster too :)

Now that the challenge is pretty much over, here are some things that are sticking with me even after this:  Breakfast will always be vegetarian and I will continue to explore more meatless options for other meals.  Recycling is a MUST. I will refuse any sort of plasticware/straws I will continue to make my household chemical free.

Kind of sad the challenge is almost over! I would definitely be interested in doing again in the spring or next year.

2 days left of the challenge! Woot woot!

Today is a 'leftovers' day, where we do crafts and activities, cook, and get ready for the week, all using things we already have in the house. It's a way we like to finish using odds and ends and slow the rate of buying new things.
