    We have really extreme policing of gender roles in the United States, in some ways more so than other Western countries.     By doing this Ecochallenge, I am able to see that I already am doing my part in some ways to make good choices for the environment, but there are always more things that I could be doing.  My biggest challenge personally is giving up refined sugars.  Chocolate is a vice for me, so giving it up completely has been difficult...impossible.  I have...

    My family needs to really start watching the amount of energy we use in our home.  Turning out lights or only using the minimal amount of lighting would be a huge step to saving on our electric bill and saving the environment.  We already use energy efficient bulbs, but they only do so much when the lights are left blazing all night long.

    This was a fun exercise!  Logging in everyday was a reminder to keep doing the things I needed to do and it kept me accountable.

    This is difficult for me as I enjoying buying.  I have gotten better about purchasing items and really asking myself if I need it or want it and is it good for our family finances.

    As a family we are going to commit to at least one weekend a month that we will be tech/ screen free so that we are spending more time with each other.  We are going to go social media free for the Thanksgiving Holiday and no individual screen time (family TV/ movie time only).

    I had not considered the value of sleep until this challenge. Rest is important. I get it. I will make sure to take time to rest moving forward.
