REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
Kathryn Adair 10/17/2018 10:27 AMWe constantly turn our lights off when were not in our room, we also use small units to heat or cool a room instead of turning on heat or air for the whole place. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Kathryn Adair 10/17/2018 10:24 AMIf I don't bring in a reusable bag, if there is a small amount of items I carry them out. If there is more, I either buy a reusable bag or use paper and recycle it in my house. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Kathryn Adair 10/17/2018 10:22 AMSometimes a reusable mug can feel inconvenient because of the steps you have to take to remind your self to grab one. That can be the biggest hurdle. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersFive minute showers are an impressive step toward reducing your water footprint. What is the next step you can take?
Kathryn Adair 10/12/2018 12:15 PMI will start to walk to work instead of drive, at least when I can. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Track my PurchasesWhat have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?
Kathryn Adair 10/11/2018 3:05 PMI tend to eat out more or buy food in boxes which creates a lot of recycled waste. I am buying more fresh produce and eating in more often. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Talk To My Friends and ColleaguesWhat makes you feel connected to your neighborhood, your neighbors, or another kind of community in your life?
Kathryn Adair 10/11/2018 2:52 PMI think being out in the community, engaging with other people and seeing all the various activities to do help me feel more connected!
