I also take my time. I plan my trips and it really is just as convenient as driving if I plan accordingly. Also, I am less grumpy from rush hour traffic.

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go by BikeHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Jamie Alcumbrac 10/10/2018 3:48 PMWhen I ride my bike I notice small parts of the city I wouldn't normally see. I find murals and small parks and I even stop to smell the roses. I found a small rose garden near Encanto park tucked away. It was lovely! If I were in a car I never would have found these tiny gems from behind the steering wheel.
I also take my time. I plan my trips and it really is just as convenient as driving if I plan accordingly. Also, I am less grumpy from rush hour traffic. -
Jamie Alcumbrac 10/09/2018 7:41 AMMy favorite part about biking to work is the awesome things you find along the way. I will be documenting murals and art as I go!-

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My HomeHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Jamie Alcumbrac 10/08/2018 7:45 AMI prevent myself from getting too much stuff by thinking carefully about what I purchase and making sure that if I do bring in items into my home that they are needed or are replacing other items.
I think about how often I use certain items and if I really need them or if I want them. It is fine to want things or purchase something new for my home or myself, but by being intentional and thoughtful about my "stuff" I reduce wasteful consumption. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Drive LessHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Jamie Alcumbrac 10/03/2018 7:44 AMI did not use public transportation until I was in college. Then I started using it all the time. It isn't as accessible as it once was for me. But I still think it is vital. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Go for a Daily WalkFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Jamie Alcumbrac 10/03/2018 7:43 AMI love walking around my neighborhood. The rain we got these past couple of days have really made it so nice to walk around phoenix at night. I like the walks because it gives me time to reflect and connect with nature.
