Abigail's actions
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Health
Healthy Sleep
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 30 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.
Waste
Use a Reusable Mug
I will avoid sending 1 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Transportation
Walk Instead
I will walk 5 mile(s) each day instead of driving and avoid sending up to 6.7 lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Abigail Bartch 10/08/2018 7:31 PMBy participating in this challenge, I have not only used less disposable cups, but I have also spent less money on coffee because I have been making my coffee with my Keurig (with my reusable K-cup). Overall win-win. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Abigail Bartch 10/08/2018 7:27 PMI've been making a conscious effort to go bed earlier at night and take less naps or shorter naps during the day in order to increase productivity. On average, Ive been going to bed approximately one hour earlier than I have been in the last month. Hopefully after a while of doing this consistently I will see a change in my alertness during the day.
