Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Simplicity
Track my Purchases
I will spend 15 minutes each day maintaining a record of all my purchases and learning about my spending habits.
Waste
Find Local Recycling Depots
I will spend at least 30 minutes finding out where to recycle the recyclable items that I can't put in my curbside bin.
Transportation
Drive Less
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips.

Shawnette Beard 10/10/2018 6:30 AMI finally got my new ATM card yesterday and I have used it already. I need to be more strict about my spending habits though. I want to carry cash more often and only use the card for emergency type expenses. -
Reflection QuestionSimplicity Track my PurchasesWhat have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?
Shawnette Beard 10/08/2018 5:41 AMi've not had an atm card for several days. I may now start using cash to limit my spending. It's so easy to just hand my card to a vendor but if I visually see how much of my money is being spent maybe i'll start spending less. -

Shawnette Beard 9/28/2018 8:15 AMI know my time on Earth is limited so I understand I should take care of it. Future generations should benefit from each small effort I make to recycle and keep the environment clean.
