  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers

This is something I always do and have done for years. Now if I could just convince my son to do the same.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Disconnect from Email
Notice how much time you were spending checking email away from work and make note of that. Now that you have stepped away from it and have not been checking, what changes are you noticing in your thoughts, use of time, stress and energy levels?

Juggling multiple email accounts can be a challenge. Work, personal, professional and business. I can easily go down a rabbit hole especially with my personal account. I try and use the sweep feature as much as possible and just let it go.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Less Screen Time
What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

This is something I am always trying to improve on. I love technology and love learning new things through research on the internet. I am spending more time creatively and trying to focus on disconnecting more.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Meditate
What would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?

As well as practicing Sun Salutation, and longer yoga practices when I can I also spend a minimum of 15-30 minutes a day practicing mindfulness, gratitude and meditation daily.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "...our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." Respond to Berry's assertion.

This is something I do every single day. I have always been a lover of sunsets and have 100s of photos of beautiful skies that I have loved and tried to capture. They are never quite as glorious though.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Try a New Way to Prep
Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

I already can and bake my own bread. I recently purchased an InstantPot and am learning how to prep some weekly meals with it for my son and I. I am also learning how to pickle/ferment some new foods.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

This is something that I always do, as well as hanging clothes to dry.
