REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Turn it offHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Melissa Brady 10/24/2018 9:54 AM35% of the electricity from my local power company is clean energy produced mostly from solar. Otherwise it is generated through the use of natural gas. The impacts are of course through the emissions of greenhouse gases and other air pollutants produced as a result.-
Josh Gipper 10/24/2018 10:18 AMCheck out some companies like Hygge Power and others doing distributed storage, they can really extend the life of renewably generated electricity.

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Switch to Cold WaterWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
Melissa Brady 10/24/2018 9:49 AMMoney is always needed but hopefully I can redirect it to other energy efficient choices to help further conserve. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Replace Manual ThermostatsHow do you anticipate replacing your thermostats for programmable ones will positively impact your life?
Melissa Brady 10/24/2018 9:49 AMsaving money!! My new thermostat more accurately controls the temperature and allows me to adjust while away from home as well which allows more flexibility in conserving energy. I am also connected to my power company who can adjust the temperature based on high usage days. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
Melissa Brady 10/24/2018 9:47 AMTo reduce carbon emissions, carpooling, eating locally produced and organic food, cutting out beef and dairy... etc. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Power Down the ComputerWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Melissa Brady 10/24/2018 9:42 AMKeep computer on sleep when I need to walk away for a bit if shutting down isn't an option. Using wifi controls on outlets to control various appliances/fixtures when not home. -
Melissa Brady 10/24/2018 9:41 AMI Keep a stainless steel cup at my desk which keeps me motivated to drink lots of water and as an added incentive, keeps my drink cold all day. No need for water bottles!
