REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity necessary for practicing simplicity?
Jocelyn Buchholtz 10/16/2018 9:03 AMIn this complex world it's rare to find simplicity. Practicing different ways of life that are different from other people makes you unique and special. I think people get so caught up on being like everyone else that we don't step back and think. about who we actually are. Sometimes it's better to live a simple life. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Avoid refined sugarBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?
Jocelyn Buchholtz 10/16/2018 8:57 AMI wouldn't say I was "addicted" to sugar but I definitely ate more than I needed and now I feel healthier and better without it on a daily basis. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Limit Social MediaSocial media is a great way to keep us connected with loved ones, makes us laugh, and helps us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days now, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Jocelyn Buchholtz 10/15/2018 12:34 PMI feel refreshed. I've noticed that I don't need it to fill in the free time that I have in my day on social media because there are other things I could be doing. I've been getting more things done like my homework since I don't let my phone distract me. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Jocelyn Buchholtz 10/15/2018 12:32 PMI want to start reflecting more of my time on the happy things that exist in my life. If you spend your time worried about everything bad that can happen then it could stop you from living your best life. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Try a New Way to PrepCanning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
Jocelyn Buchholtz 10/11/2018 2:06 PMI love watermelon, apples, and oranges. I would definitely preserve these fruits for later in the year. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Jocelyn Buchholtz 10/11/2018 2:03 PMPracticing gratitude can help you appreciate everything you have in life. If the people out there who have a full life can maybe eventually give to those who don't have as much this world might be a little better. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Advocate for More Food OptionsGiven the impact of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers on both the natural world and our food systems, what do you think about the use of these products in agriculture?
Jocelyn Buchholtz 10/11/2018 1:59 PMI think it's harming our health and the environment. The industries use it to make more profit because the materials can enhance plant growth and quality. But, at the end of the day I strongly believe that a healthy world is better than making more money and this is something our country isn't understanding yet.
