Reflection QuestionHealth Avoid refined sugarBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?
Anshu Choudhary 10/24/2018 5:56 AMThe latest health and fitness trends all seem to relate to some kind of a cleanse in order to change something about your diet. Typically, a cleanse is used to assist in purging sugar or other so-called toxins from the body, but how effective are these cleanses? When it comes to sugar addiction, the body is under constant pressure to consume something sweet or sweet-tasting, which can cause a myriad of symptoms and cravings. -

Reflection QuestionWaste Compost Food WasteNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? Do you know how your compost will be used and the benefits it has on the environment?
Anshu Choudhary 10/24/2018 5:51 AMf you’ve ever considered gardening at home, be it plants and flowers or fresh fruits and vegetables, you should also consider composting. Even if you don’t garden, composting at home can help make your lawn greener while you recycle common kitchen scraps.
Serious gardeners most likely already know how to compost at home, but those who aren’t shouldn’t be intimidated. You’ll be surprised at how much a basic compost pile with minimal maintenance can help you grow strong and healthy plants.

Reflection QuestionTransportation Car ShareTake a moment to think of places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Anshu Choudhary 10/24/2018 5:47 AMAs a foreigner living in Toluca, a Mexican city without many foreigners, I often get asked the same questions, and naturally I have my standard responses.“Cómo llegaste a México?” is a common one, which literally translates as “How did you come to Mexico?” My answer, “in an airplane,” usually gets a big laugh.Of course they mean why did I come here, and what did I do to be able to live here. But besides getting the laugh, my answer is the quickest way of giving the truth. I didn’t make much of a plan before I moved to Mexico six years ago, just bought a one-way ticket and packed my bags.I didn’t know about immigration requirements, I barely spoke Spanish, and I didn’t have a job lined up, although I already had experience living and teaching English in other countries. But for the most part, I winged it, made many mistakes, and learned as I went. -
Reflection QuestionTransportation Choose a Carbon OffsetA round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1.5 tons of CO2—per person. That’s a lot of carbon! What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?

If you fly, offset it.
Fly coach.
