    World population is on pace to hit 9.4 billion by 2050. In the next 20+ years Energy use will rise 53%; GHG emissions will rise by 43%; and demand for water will be 40% higher than supply. 

    Business as usual isn’t sustainable.  At our current rate of growth, by 2050 we’ll need the equivalent of 2.3 Earths to support us all...and we just have one.

    In 2018, Earth Overshoot Day lands on August 1 which means on this date the humanity has exhausted nature's budget for the year. For the rest of the year, we are maintaining our ecological deficit by drawing down local resource stocks and accumulating carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
