  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?

I will keep a glass bottle in my car instead of bringing a prefilled water bottle.

I have a metal bottle in my car, which keeps water fairly cold, even in the hot months. I also have a dish for my dog - so after a walk at the park, we both can have a drink. (I have to be careful - he would happily drink from the bottle directly...!)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

It is easier to use a paper cup. We all need to start somewhere.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Recycle Everything I Can
What have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?

A large drop off location is located in Grayslake Illinois. I also ship old toners at work.

The most difficult part of recycling for me is transporting the old electronics.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

I have to reycle a phone, old electronics and expired drugs. I found local locations for all three nearby.
