Elsa's actions

Simplicity

Have a Garage Sale

I will have a group garage sale with friends, family, and/or neighbors.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Waste

Advocate For More Food Packaging Options

I will advocate for alternatives to single-use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, at work, or on campus.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Health

More Fruits and Veggies

I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 2 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.

COMPLETED 22
DAILY ACTIONS

Simplicity

Disconnect from Email

I will disconnect from my email when not working or studying.

COMPLETED 22
DAILY ACTIONS

Waste

Skip the Straw

Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

COMPLETED 22
DAILY ACTIONS

Health

Go get a check up

I will make an appointment for my annual physical.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Waste

Reduce Single-Use Disposables

Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.

While shopping at Costco over the weekend, my 8 year old really wanted some yummy muffins. But I had to say "sorry honey those are in plastic clamshells, so no" We all have to make hard decisions sometimes, but if you aren't part of the solution then you are a part of the problem. I choose to refuse plastic as much as I can. I am far from perfect but those little choices do add up. And Elliot was very happy that mom made him some yummy homemade banana bread, which was way better than the muffins he wanted :)
