  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Leave No Trace
Educator Stephanie Kaza advises her students to focus on what they care about most when addressing the enormity of ecological problems. Is there a specific area you feel particularly called to work on?

I'm most cognizant of, and likely care most about, preservation of habitats. This is one of the key causes of species loss.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Water security for all, and ensuring that water returns to its natural place in the cycle.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Use Public Transit
The US spends roughly 20% of its federal budget on defense. In contrast, 2% goes to education, 20% goes to social security and 3% goes to transportation infrastructure. Do these numbers surprise you at all? Why or why not?

Does not surprise me as I follow federal politics, but it's still disappointing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Avoid refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

Certainly not "addicted", but I definitely have a sweet tooth. Being more mindful of the additives in food with the goal of a healthier self.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Eliminate Toxic Plastics
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

Cutting down on plastic grocery bags, and try to reuse them as much as possible whenever I receive them.
