Skip the Straw

Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

0.3kWh! I had no idea running a washer with cold water used such little electricity! And apparently detergent can sometimes even be better in cold water. Definitely good inspiration here on coldwatersaves.org. I need to remember more consistently to adjust the water temperature before blindly starting the wash (because it defaults to warm/hot... :/)
