Exercise Daily

Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 45 minute(s) each day.

COMPLETED 10
DAILY ACTIONS

Waste

Skip the Straw

Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 5 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

Yesterday was a veggie and fruit festival!  I mixed in a few beans to add some "gas".  I plan to continue my pledge today with a vegetarian omelet, salad, roasted cauliflower and pesto pasta.  Apples for a snack.  Who needs potato chips and cookies?

My son brought home tons of apples from Hood River - plan to gorge on apples this week.

I am stepping up my game to eat all vegetarian in the final stretch of this competition.  Yum - carrot soup and a vegetarian bean and rice bowl with plenty of veges!

On Saturday we had our annual Harvest Festival at Rock Creek.  The students tabled at the event to promote the idea of reducing single-use plastics (like straws).

My Sustainability friends keep me honest and motivated - lunch today was many veges and fruits including some sweet potatoes, asparagus and strawberries and tomatoes on a few pesto infused eggs.  YUMMY!

I brought my own straw on a trip last week and was able to refrain from using plastic.  I now have a straw in my bag and I have also encouraged my son to stop buying plastic soda pops!
