Exercise on Sat was a hike around Mt. Tabor with a group. The company and weather were awesome sauce! As was the beer at Horse Brass afterwards.

Today was three games of half court basketball.  I was called old man by this kid who was fed up with me. The youngling kept dropping off of me and I kept shooting and a couple went in! My team won two out of three. Yee Ha!

My Happiness is being fed today by some energy I found to get some yard work done yesterday. I hope to get a couple of things done when I get home from work tonight.

My Happiness is always fed by music. Today's three song set: (why not make it happy related?) Happiness Is Just Around The Bend by Brian Auger's Oblivion Express.  Happy by Pharell..what a cool upbeat tune. Jimmy Durante with Make Someone Happy...some great lyrics in this old chestnut..."make just one someone happy..."

Exercise was fun today!  I don't know where my energy came from, I felt sluggish all morning and even during my stretching routine prior to playing.  As soon as the game started, however, I got totally pumped up.  I ran the court, had a good sweat, got into some arguments, the usual rat ball stuff.  But it was fun, yo!

Today's three song set is brought to you by Happiness.  Lou Reed doing Rock N Roll..classic.."Jenny said, when she was just five years old there was nothing happening at all."  How about some Aerosmith?  This band knew how to get funky. Best example of this is "Last Child." Like wow. And in honor of going to see Pat Metheny tonight I'll throw in "It's Just Talk." Awesome Brazilian flavored piece by Metheny & Group.

What are you listening to that turns you on?

I am grateful for the growth of my daughter. For a second there I thought she was still like, two or three and I could pick her up and hold her close. In talking to her about her about school work and the things she needs to do for it, as she contemplates what she needs to do she drops the "I'll figure it out" on me.  Say whaaaa??!!  The kid is going all abstract on me. Then I realized she's twelve and she is quite capable of handling her school work. Talk about happiness...she is displaying this dogged tenacity when it comes to getting her schoolwork done. She thinks about it, she does it, if she doesn't finish in the evening, she is actively thinking about it in the morning. Now if I can only get her to think about attacking the mess in her room in this manner. Hmmm.........

I am also grateful for kd lang's version of the Joni Mitchell tune Help Me. Absolutely sublime.  Plus, the Black Eyed Peas doing Mas Que Nada with Sergio Mendes. Wow, let's dance!!  Oh, I also re-visited the Rory Gallagher (R.I.P.) album Calling Card. He was a master of blues rock.

I went to a garden party to reminisce with some old leaves. They were good leaves in the summer, however, it is time for them to move on...with my help. I spent some time last night raking them up. Such a gorgeous night. I'm really enjoying this Indian summer that we're getting here in NW Oregon. Like wow!

Had a great couple of two on two basketball games today at lunch. You really have to work in this setup.  I had a good sweat, scored a couple of points, grabbed a couple of rebounds, got a few dimes, and got schooled by a youngster who just blew right by me. Ha! My weekly routine is b-ball Mon, Wed, & Fri, weight lifting Tue, Thur, & Sat.  Today is the first day that I've felt good all week.I've decided that I need to re-think Fat Sunday. I really let myself go this past Sunday and I was feeling it for a couple of days. Ugh.

Howdy...had a great weekend hanging out with The Kid. I took her to swim Sat morning, then to her school's Halloween party Sat evening. Yesterday we got together with some of her pals and went to this house that has a makeshift graveyard, then we went to a pumpkin patch and did the maze. The Kid made it out, but I'm still lost there. If I am going to be lost somewhere I'd rather be all Lost in the Supermarket. Sigh...

I am grateful for the sunny fall days we are having here in the PNW.
My daughter was not feeling well this past weekend.  I am grateful that she is feeling better.
I am grateful for music. I listened to an old Tubes album yesterday that I haven't heard in a long time.  It's a fun record.

Spent ninety minutes last night tilling the top level of some dirt.  Then I put some cardboard down on this area.  Now I'm looking to get some kind of mulch to lay on top of the cardboard.  This, as I'm told, is good prep for soil for planting next spring.

I did buy some used clothes last week.  At this point I'm going to have to wait until the end of this month before I can hit the store again.

De-clutter is an on-going endeavor.  I gathered a bunch of stuff, including some stuff from my daughters room.  Soon I will make a list and will then donate Veteran's of America.
