Re-potted plants yesterday - gave some away today. During the winter months, houseplants not only improve air quality, but I think they help with our mental health! It's good to share with friends.

Spent much of the day yesterday making pesto from basil out in the garden - had to get it harvested due to frost warning!  Pondering whether it's smarter to make and freeze, or just buy a jar from Aldi's? But I guess it's just like anything.... you can spend twenty hours making a blanket, or you can buy one for $20 at K-Mart.  Making your own is just more satisfying....

Yesterday, we had a heating guy stop in to look at our non-working fireplace. Always a draft coming in & we assumed it was from the chimney. Turns out a hole in the bottom (under the fake logs) was drawing up air from the basement. It'll get stuffed with insulation & we'll be needing less heat this winter!

I spent LOTS of time outdoors yesterday, as it was the last warm day of the year.  Today is rain & a cold front moving in. Spending time outdoors today could prove to be a real challenge!

Challenge has been going well, as it's been beautiful weather & easy to get outdoors. We'll see how it goes at the end of the week when it's cold & rainy!

I recently purchased my first composter. I always thought that it would be kind of a hassle. Instead, I love taking it out and starting a new pot. You can actually see the results first hand. It's so awesome!

Talked with the trash guy today -  found out more about the recycling process & what he needs us to do to make it easier for him.
