REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?
Tracey Grange 10/04/2018 8:05 PMI have noticed that many of my purchases are on clothing, even though I have a full closet full of clothes that I never wear...some with tags on. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityHow is creativity necessary for practicing simplicity?
Tracey Grange 10/04/2018 8:03 PMIt takes creativity to find solutions to problems. Sometimes the easy, convenient solution may not be the best one. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureAmongst the motivations for foraging are: a source of food; means of income; connecting with nature; cultural tradition; or transmitting "local ecological knowledge, and a means for stewarding local and native plant populations" (McLain et al. 2012, 13). Which of these would be your chief motivation and why?
Tracey Grange 10/04/2018 7:59 PMMy main reason for foraging would be source of food. And tasty pies. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Tracey Grange 10/03/2018 9:50 PMTonight I carried my groceries out to my car in my hands! Having a small reusable tote bag in my car would be helpful in these situations. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?
