Food
Smart Seafood Choices
I will visit seafoodwatch.org or download the app and commit to making better seafood choices for a healthier ocean.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Waste
Compost Food Waste
I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Energy
Turn it off
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Compost Food WasteNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? Do you know how your compost will be used and the benefits it has on the environment?
Amanda Hostert 10/10/2018 2:02 PMMy family has always had a compost pile, yet we never knew how many things we were throwing away that could actually go in there. I created a list that we keep in our kitchen that lets us know what we can and can’t compost, which has helped a lot. Our compost will be used for our garden.
