Deborah Hyde 10/11/2018 11:05 AMThis fell off my last post: GoGreen Conference -
Deborah Hyde 10/11/2018 11:03 AMIt's well past due to redefine our Economy. I've heard of Bill McKibben's Deep Economy, but this is a new one I learned about at the Conference yesterday, presented by Nwammaka Agbo.

Deborah Hyde 10/11/2018 10:49 AMI am grateful that so many young people are involved in sustainability, equity and social justice. I am grateful that I have really good medical insurance. I am grateful that my loan from the state will be fully forgiven on 1/1/2019! -
Deborah Hyde 10/09/2018 4:51 PMI am grateful for the people I work with everyday. I am grateful that I can still laugh at myself. I am grateful that in a lot of ways, I'm still very young at heart. -
Deborah Hyde 10/05/2018 2:09 PM5 challenges may seem like a lot, but I've been so good about meal planning and not wasting food this week, that I think I should challenge myself even more. I came so close to ordering dinner from Amazon Prime, but forced myself to make baked, roasted potatoes, and scrambled eggs and cheese for dinner instead. I even had a delicious pear that my friend Patty gave me for dessert! It's fall folks, time to cook! -

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My HomeHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Deborah Hyde 10/04/2018 11:28 AMOnly buy what I need and don't replace it just because it's getting well used. Give away items I no longer need before I replace it with something new. Remove myself from as many mailing lists as possible and sort through my mail as soon as I get it. Recycle and shred! Switch to electronic bill pay, decline paper receipts, buy in bulk and avoid purchases that include a lot of packing. Be happy with quality instead of quantity. :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity necessary for practicing simplicity?
Deborah Hyde 10/04/2018 11:21 AMCreativity is needed to practice simplicity because it takes creativity to figure out what you can live without and still be fulfilled. -
Deborah Hyde 10/04/2018 11:18 AMI am grateful that I have more yard than house on my property. We all need more trees, shrubs, herbs and flowers for the birds and bees, and for the air we breathe. I am grateful for all the people who respect and care for Earth and her creatures. I am grateful for those who respect one another despite all their differences. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Deborah Hyde 10/03/2018 10:25 AMI have been thinking a lot about my attitude about the world and what's going on around me. All the ugliness and harm that so many people face everyday, weighs so heavy on my soul. I don't want to be unhappy, bitter or pessimistic, so I will try harder to be positive about the good things in this world and in my life. This challenge will help me focus on intentional happiness.
