Leslie's actions
Food
Try a New Way to Prep
I will try a new method of food preparation, such as canning, pickling, or baking bread.
Food
Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
I will watch 2 documentary(ies) about food sovereignty: the right of local peoples to control their own food systems including markets, ecological resources, food cultures and production methods.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 2 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day this week.
Waste
Advocate For More Food Packaging Options
I will advocate for alternatives to single-use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, at work, or on campus.
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper each day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 20 minute(s) each day.
Health
Go get a check up
I will make an appointment for my annual physical.
Waste
Go Paperless
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by opting into paperless billing and ending unwanted subscriptions.
Waste
Find Local Recycling Depots
I will spend at least 40 minutes finding out where to recycle the recyclable items that I can't put in my curbside bin.
Health
Healthy Sleep
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 60 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.
Waste
Launch a Recycling Program
I will start a recycling program at my workplace or school. If a recycling program exists, I will advocate for ways to improve and expand it.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Leslie Imhoof 10/18/2018 6:23 PMIt’s going well. I had to purchase some donuts at the grocery store, and I took my own tray, put the donuts on it, and paid for them, rather than have the plastic container. The cashier looked at me oddly, but I didn’t care. 1 less piece of plastic in our world. -
Leslie Imhoof 10/15/2018 8:05 AMYesterday I tried a new vegan recipe for very chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, and they were fabulous. Made unsweetened cocoa and vegan chocolate chips. I've also gone one week strictly vegetarian.

Leslie Imhoof 10/13/2018 9:22 AMWhen David and I lived in Germany in '94, we discovered Aldi. Since then, I have been shopping at Aldi for some food items because they are conscious of packaging. We continue to shop there and at other resources in order to eliminate our waste. -
