Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 20 minute(s) each day.
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Waste
Compost Food Waste
I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.

Healthy Sleep
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 20 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.

Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 6 hour(s) in my community during the challenge.

Advocate for More Food Options
I will advocate for local and/or organic food options at work or on campus.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Jamie Jacquart 10/21/2018 11:19 AMIt's so much easier to achieve daily goals on a weekend, but it's also easier to feel the differences as well. I wish every day could be on a weekend. -
Jamie Jacquart 10/19/2018 6:31 AMI'm amazed at how easily these behaviors have become a normal part of my routine. -
Jamie Jacquart 10/19/2018 6:30 AMI love being reminded of these actions and how easily they have become new habits for me.
-
Jamie Jacquart 10/18/2018 3:50 PMMeeting with my students reminds me of the necessity of participating in this challenge. We ALL have the opportunity and obligation to become aware of our actions and then to try and minimize their volume, frequency or existence altogether. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Advocate for More Food OptionsGiven the impact of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers on both the natural world and our food systems, what do you think about the use of these products in agriculture?
Jamie Jacquart 10/18/2018 3:47 PMThere are clearly some value in being able to use a very limited amount of each of these items. There are also many natural solutions available as well, which may not work for large agriculture, but certainly could be adopted by local growers. -
Jamie Jacquart 10/16/2018 8:10 AMWe just organized an event for America Recycles Day, which is coming up on November 15th! -
Jamie Jacquart 10/12/2018 11:22 AMIt's nice to check back in daily to mark my own progress but to also see our collective efforts. We're making such a huge difference in the world!
