Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Rubi Jaimes 10/12/2018 3:34 PMMy family doesn't use straws very often, we mainly use it when we go out to eat. However, I have been meaning to cut them out as best as I can especially since at my work place we advocate not to use them. Recently, I just purchased my first set of reusable straws. I used them at a restaurant where I informed my boyfriend, his cousin, and his date about the challenge and how by reusing a straw i can cut back on the plastic one use ones. -
